As mentioned by others a 11.5 ver. of DMPE will not (likely) be produced - is there a particular person at nuance that would be receptive in receiving an email about this policy. Even if it isn't going to change, I would like to be able to send a message expressing my concern.  The thought came to mind as I continue to see other providers struggling with this rather expensive piece of software.

Previous posts have suggested David Savage as the go to person on DMPE. Was some time ago and not sure if still current.

I think email is avid.Savage@nuance.com">David.Savage@nuance.com

Regards,

Chris

Chris and Paul,

I would not hold your breath regarding waiting to here back from David Savage as I sent him this e-mail Oct 31, 2011 and never received a reply:

Dear Mr. Savage,

Based on your recent contact with Dr. Kosova, I think you need to see the attached documentation of a 62 second latency episode using DMPE.
Thank you for your attention to this serious problem.
Sincerely,
Mark Haimes, M.D.

Hey thanks all - I'll try Dave.  Thinking I might also visit their facebook page. Hopefully we get some response.

You're most likely wasting your breath because the Nuance development teams (note the s) are now committed to working on Ver. 12 which is probably a long way off but these things take time. The last version of Dragon Medical took 3 years to release. You may be able to get a response on a specific problem being examined but as far as any real information is concerned, anyone in the know is required to sign an NDA which prevents them from further comment.

We might be able to shed little light on 1 particular NaturallySpeaking latency issue. The following is merely our opinion and not necessarily fact:

Approximately a month ago, all of our computers received a Windows automatic update. The Big Haired Lady immediately complained that her computer had slowed down but in our usual fashion, we completely ignored her because she does 95% of her work on the Internet and we have a slow Internet connection. If our 990x i7 6 core 24 Gb office computer slowed down a bit, we simply wouldn't notice but we did run into 1 oddity which we want to mention in case others have experienced the same problem. Every 3rd NaturallySpeaking phrase we dictated was typically delayed between 10 and 20 seconds; sometimes notably longer. Every 1st and 2nd NaturallySpeaking phrase we dictated landed in our document in under 1 second. This is more of an approximation rather than a precise analogy but it did seem like every 3rd phrase took about 20 seconds to land on the page and we eventually learned to dictate in long phrases and jump back and forth between a 2nd computer in order to finish all work. Command deployment was abysmal because the delays caused timeouts and miscalculations which forced us to process orders by hand for about a month. We went through the usual uninstall reinstall, create a new user profile, installed several malware applications like Zone Alarm etc.; Nothing helped.

Interestingly enough, about 2 days ago we received another Windows automatic update and the sluggishness disappeared from both of our computers. We now believe that the Windows development team seriously dropped the ball. We also suspect that others may have experienced similar situations and like us, blamed everything from NaturallySpeaking, to spyware to the White House. We plan on making a mirror backup of our computer this weekend because we never want to go through this again.

Well Dave got back to me within 10 minutes.  Said that some improvements were coming and attached a pdf with the details - added as an attachment.  Hope this addresses other user's concerns.

Paul,

Thank you for this information, however, it does not address the very frustrating, very frequent, productivity-killer "rogue commands" issue, which is what finally drove me to forfeit my $500 downgrade to DMPE, and upgrade back to DNS Medical v. 10.1 which works great. Until they address that issue, DMPE is not worth using for myself and others that use lots of custom commands. The fact that they are not intending to offer a patch implies that this problem will not be fixed. This is unjustifiable.

I agree MDH and feel a sense of resentment. It is a lot of money for not.
