Hi All, I am using Dragon Preferred 10.I am aware of the vocabulary builder and I have added words and trained them individually. But I find it to be little cumbersome. Suppose I have a paragraph filled with words that I am getting constantly wrong. Is there a better way to train Dragon with all those words, than adding / training each word individually ?

Create a writing sample that contains all the problematic words. Use the "learn from specific documents" feature. I find that I rarely need to train individual words after using this feature. (My writing sample is 20 pages long and contains a total of 5000 words. I have been using the same file for over ten years. I update it occasionally: on average once every year or two.) |

Adding and training each word individually is very time-consuming and in most cases, unnecessary. Alan’s recommendation is spot on but if you run into a word that isn't consistently recognized, you can optionally resort to training that word, adding it to a phrase in your Vocabulary Editor or utilizing a specialized Spoken Form.
If you are unfamiliar with how the Written Form/Spoken Form of the Vocabulary Editor works, here is an example. We frequently refer to the generic USB soundcard driver in Windows XP which goes by the rather odd name of AK5370, which we found difficult to dictate. The problem was solved by creating a Written Form of AK5370 and a Spoken Form of a Kay fifty-three seventy. -------------------------
