I'm hoping someone can help me with what is probably a easy fix, but I'm a computer novice to say the least. I'm paralyzed from the neck down, and have been functioning pretty well on my computer with Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11, and the know brainer software.
I use the computer completely hands-free. And very rarely have problems.

Today all of a sudden when I try to click any of the tabs or menu buttons, I get no response, or responses I'm not trying to. I use Internet Explorer. For an example when I usually say "click favorites" the favorites menu generally drops down, and I say the name I want to choose such as "Yahoo". Today for some reason when I say "click favorites" the actual text "click favorites" appears in the bing -box. Also I can't get any of the tabs etc. to work in my mail program (Microsoft outlook).

I'm thinking something basic must have got switched or changed. Since this just started today.
Sorry for my computer ignorance.

Thanks in advance

1. Close Internet Explorer, and open it again. If that does not solve the problem...

2. Exit DNS, and launch it again. If that does not solve the problem...

3. Exit all programs, including NaturallySpeaking, and restart your computer

I also have this problem and here is how I have solved it.

The problem is that your cursor is in the Bing box and therefore anything you say will be entered into the Bing box.

To take your cursor out of the Bing box simply say MouseGrid and then a number which is on any part of the blank page you have and then say mouseclick. You can now say click favorites and the favorites bar will open.

In my case I just say mouse grid 4 mouse click and then pause and say click favorites.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the help. The only way I was able to solve this problem. Was to shut down all programs, completely shut the computer down, and then boot everything up again. Even when I closed all programs and restarted the computer, I had the same problem. Only when the computer was completely shut down, and then started from scratch, was the problem rectified. No idea how or why, but it was fixed.

Thank you

Just adding a smidgen to the already excellent advice…

Your KnowBrainer command software includes most Internet Explorer menus. Rather than saying
click view, followed by saying click text size, followed by saying click larger, you can just say Larger, Largest, Medium, Smaller or Smallest. If you want to click the 3rd tab just say 3rd Tab and note that you don't even have to be in Internet Explorer to say <1st – 8th> Tab
. This command is global.

Both NaturallySpeaking and KnowBrainer include numerous Search commands which are worth checking out in the Command Browsers. As an example, try the following:

1. Place your cursor on the desktop (just because it's weird)
2. Say
KnowBrainer
(ignore the fact that nothing happens)
3. Say
Search Bing
and watch the magic unfold
4. To eliminate the extra browser tab say
Close Tab
