I am entering a list of items that should all be title-cased. I am saying "Caps On" then the item. I then add a New-Line. The problem is that Dragon switches title case off after every New-Line. How do I tell Dragon to keep title case on for the entire document?

Hi Allison Say " Edit vocabulary" which will bring up the vocabulary editor dialogue box which you can also find under Vocabulary on the Dragon 11 menu or Words on the Dragon 10 menu and choose under Display "Words with spoken forms only" Then select "Next-line" in the spoken form list. Then click on the Properties button or say "Properties" and in the drop down list for "format the next word" choose "capitalised" and then OK and Close the Vocabulary Editor. Now when you give the "Next-line" command you will get a capitalised first word on the following line every time. You will also preserve your "New-line" command for when you don't want a capital for every line e.g. when you are doing a list that doesn't require the 1st word capitalised. Alternatively you can select "new line" in the spoken form list and change the properties for that command as above. Alternatively, dictate everything that you want to appear in title case; don't worry if the case is not quite right. Then select the text and say "capitalize selection." |

You could try turning on the Auto-Formatting option 'Caps Lock key overrides capitalisation commands' (Tools > Auto-Formatting Options). I don't know if that'll do what you want but it's worth experimenting with. Otherwise I agree with Alan, ie. Complete the dictation, then apply the capitalisation afterwards. However there's no need to select the text first, just use one of the following: "capitalise to " Eg. to capitalise all the text in your original post you would say "capitalise I am entering to document question mark" "capitalise last <1 to 20> lines" - Or replace "lines" with "paragraphs", "pages", etc "capitalise document"
