Recently re-installed DNS 9.5, for which I previously made a restore file which I placed on a flash drive, for user name WinXP. After using ‘manage user’ on the DNS menu to restore my user settings I find that accuracy of DNS is now terrible, as if my files weren't properly imported. I presume something is wrong with what I have done, and seek your advice. Perhaps I selected incorrect folder for backup purposes? My UserName in DNS is “WINXP”, and the backup folder which I previously exported to my flash drive is in a folder called “Dragon User File” with subfolder “WinXP”. WinXP has subfolders “Backup, Backup_2”, “Current”, “Dataarchive”, and “tb”. “backup” subfolder contains subfolders “General_”, “General_Container”, “ta”, “tt”, “voice”, & “Voice_container”. The “General” subfolder contains files Dd10voc1.voc, dd10voc2.voc, dd10voc3.voc, general.enh, & general.voc, which I think are the ‘real’ backup files. Hope this provides enough info for someone to describe how to properly backup my user files so that DNS will again work properly. Step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated. |

There is more than 1 way to swap out a user profile. Restoring is the preferred method but it isn't your only option. You'll find additional step-by-step possibilities in the NaturallySpeaking Quick Tips (at the top of this page) when you look up “Switching” but note that you will have to change the address portion of the instructions from 9 to 11.

Lunis disregard my previous post. I found quick tips, but there are ~3000 items under the search title "switching". This is tedious. Any more specific lookup terms you can suggest |
