Has anybody seen this problem? Any ideas about what to do? I always have to proofread Dragon carefully because it's pretty faulty, but this is ridiculous. I'm running a Citrix client on a very souped-up PC, and have done so for years without this particular behavior. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Welcome to the World’s Most Popular Speech Recognition Forum
Unfortunately dropped letters and double letters are both issues when attempting to dictate into a Citrix network. Someone here may have some additional information as to the best way to approach Citrix but we can immediately tell you that NaturallySpeaking Premium isn't designed for a network environment. Although Premium includes the same speech engine as all other NaturallySpeaking products, the professional product line, includes network support, Roaming user profiles and a number of other professional amenities that are designed to take advantage of the workplace. You'll find additional information in the KnowBrainer NaturallySpeaking Comparison Matrix. -------------------------

thanks, Lunis. Odd that it's not been a problem before.. maybe I'll get lucky and it will revert to its former better behavior.

I have similar problems using a Citrix client – dropped or sometimes repeated letters. I generally been pretty happy with a combined approach of dictating into word and using Know-brainer scripts to automate the various formatting/copying/pasting tasks – however it would sometimes be more convenient to dictating directly into Citrix if this were reliable. I am using Dragon premium – is the Dragon Pro version network support you mention something that might make a difference over citrix if Dragon professional is only installed on the client PC, or are we talking about installation on the network?
Thanks Ricky G |

All versions of NaturallySpeaking, with the exception of Dragon Medical Network, are workstation/client-based but, depending on your situation, the Preferred/Premium to Pro 11.5 Upgrade should offer improved network user-friendliness and support.

you don't provide very much information, but could this be another example of the known bug with doubling/dropping initial key (events)?

A bug may or may not be the best way to describe this issue because the problem only presents itself when attempting to work over specific types of networks. Technically, the issue isn't directly related to NaturallySpeaking but since the problem only occurs with speech recognition, this kind of throws the ball into Nuance's court. Calling it a bug may be a little off the mark but you nevertheless have a valid point. Obviously more research needs to be conducted in the area of networking but this can probably only be solved by Nuance :-(

this problem presents itself even with local applications such as DragonPad. I do not believe it occurred with earlier versions of Dragon.

Apologies… we were unaware of this problem occurring locally. However, this sounds more like an incompatibility issue with the plug-in or utility rather than a DNS bug.
