Is it possible to select an image in Firefox or Chrome? With IE you say "image" and it places numerals/selections next to every visible or click-able image; but what about Firefox or Chrome? |

highland99, .. a computer is a stupid machine with the ability to do incredibly smart things, while computer programmers are smart people with the ability to do incredibly stupid things. They are, in short, a perfect match. ~Bill Bryson -------------------------

You can get to images and other links by voice using the following information: Lindsay ------------------------- |

Thanks for this info!
The only thing that's a little bit frustrating about this extension is that you have to hit the Alt + G keyboard combination every time you switch to a new webpage. Click on a link and all of the numerals disappear until you once again hit the keyboard combination, at least in relation to what I'm presently experiencing. There seems to be no way to keep the numerals on the screen at all times… Is there?
Thanks again! |

As I can't press the keyboard I have to do it by voice, with Professional I have just added an application-specific command for Chrome called "ShowNumbers" that sends the Alt+g key combination. With Premium you could use KnowBrainer or something like Vocola to do this and then choose your own choice of command name. Alternatively you can just say "press alt key golf" when you want the numbers to appear in Chrome.
Once the numbers are on the screen you can actually spell the numbers by voice to choose a link, so for example you could say "spell seven eight" to click on link 78. I know of no way to keep the numbers on the screen when you change page so I have to say "ShowNumbers" again, mind you I don't know a way of doing this (without writing a script) with Internet Explorer built-in Dragon commands although with mouseless browsing with Firefox it does actually keep the numbers on the screen even after changing page, again this can be driven purely by voice. That is not to say there is no way of doing it with Chrome. Lindsay ------------------------- |

I mentioned that my wife had spilled red wine on her laptop the night before last. Spraying isopropyl alcohol (including taking the laptop apart) had rescued all function except only the "5" and"6" key numbers work, not the others (all letters work). So I found this virtual keyboard app that allows her to mouse-click the needed keys. Interestingly, it has an Alt+g key. Right-clicking the top title ribbon gives options of different keyboards as well. MDH ------------------------- |
