You'll find 3 solutions to this problem when you look up “Hooker” in the NaturallySpeaking Quick Tips (at the top of this page) but the simplest solution is to download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Simplest sounds good to me. Thanks again.

gerrybuddy,

Lunis is correct. Unless you're using DNS 11.5, you need to download Acrobat reader X version 10.1.2. Only that version supports DNS 11.0 and below. Adobe Systems and Nuance cooperated in resolving this issue in DNS 11.5, but for any version below that only version 10.1.2 of Acrobat reader X will work on versions of DNS below 11.5.

The recommended procedure is to uninstall the current install of Acrobat reader X, download the latest version (10.1.2) and install it. You will be prompted during the install on how to disable the Projected mode feature. Follow the procedures in the prompt and Acrobat reader X will function properly under DNS 10.1.

I uninstalled Adobe and downloaded 10.1.2 but there were no prompts and the installation just went to the finish. Do you think that is okay? Thanks

gerrybuddy,

If you continue to have a problem, go to the following link and follow the instructions. These are the instructions that you should have been prompted relative to Protected mode.

Acrobat reader X
