All,

Can you help me with some troubleshooting? My user profile is damaged. When I try to open it, Dragon displays the following message: "Dragon cannot complete the current action because your User Profile is damaged. Please refer to the help for information on how to resolve this issue." I'm using Dragon 11.5 Professional on a Windows XP SP3 system. Since I'm using the Professional version, I export my vocabulary and custom commands to a safe location once a month. Unfortunately, that wasn't frequent enough in this case. I'd like to recover a command that I added two weeks ago. Is there somewhere I can locate my commands from my current (corrupted) user profile and then try and import them into a new user profile? I'm honestly not worried about recovering anything else, but rewriting this command is work I'd like to avoid having to redo.

My backup profile is ancient, due to circumstances beyond my control.

Thanks -- and I've learned a hard lesson about making more frequent backups!

Find the mycmds.dat file in the corrupt profile.  Copy that in to the current folder in your new profile.

Or in the command browser in your new profile, choose import and browse to the old my mycmds.dat file and find the command you want to import.

Thanks Matt, that did it.
