Allan, we didn't get it. Perhaps you could describe it and/or attach it to a posting.

Cannot load compatibility module support [GUID = {dd99001-bb89-11d2-b031-0060088dc929}). |

In earlier versions of DNS, a similar version of this error was produced by a bad Windows desktop reference. You'll find additional information, and hopefully a solution, in the NaturallySpeaking Quick Tips (at the top of this page) when you look at “compatibility module”.

I have been searching my Windows registry for that particular resource GUID (globally unique identifier), but couldn't find it. What program does it refer to according to your registry? Rüdiger

regedit is disconnect by the network administrator on this computer. Before dealing with IT, might repairing Dragon work? Not anxiuos to do that since it means reinstalling natlink etc.

Using the following technote tries to manually register the obvious compatibility modules from the Run prompt and see if you can reproduce the same fault. Then you will know which compatibility module is failing. Lindsay ------------------------- |

Quote: Not anxiuos to do that since it means reinstalling natlink etc. That just did it, thanks so much. The problem you are having is with natlink. This is what the GUID refers to. It is supposed to "talk" to Dragon as a compatibility module (run from a compiled DLL source code). To achieve this, it is registered via changing the nsapps.ini file like this: [.Natlink] The reason it didn't show up in my registry being I deactivated it, after running it for some time for testing purposes. I would recommend re-registering natlink or deactivating it altogether. Rüdiger

Nice work Batman, all that NatLink effort is paying off after all :-)

Well, credit comes along in small amounts these days, so you'd better take care of it yourself.

There was an interesting confluence of problem. To begin with, attempting to reregister NatLink would not work because the graphical user interface would not come up. Help for this problem came from SpeechComputingwhere I found that I needed to reinstall Python. At that point NatLink worked, three registered, and all is fine at the moment.
once again, thanks for all your help. |
