I'm looking for a way of removing a dictation source in DNS 11.5 Premium.  Yesterday I was playing with the idea of setting up my laptop so that I could use my Knowbrainer Mic with my laptop on the go.

Normally I've got my laptop docked for dictation.  In which case it is connected to a Andrea PureAudio USB & my Samson Airline 77 wireless.  Although the Airline 77 is an awesome wireless mic it sure isnt' a portable one.  So, with a second PureAudio USB and a Knowbrainer mic I was trying to setup the for dictation on the go . . . for whatever reason I wouldn't work.  I'm not sure if it was that there was confusion over using two Andrea PureAudio USB sound pods but no matter what I tried Dragon wasn't having any of it.  Kept having it tell me the the audio quality wasn't sufficient.

Anyway I've given up on that little exparament and now want to get ride of all the extra sources.

Right now I've got four listed and I'd like to go back to two.  I tried following a method described in a earlier form post but it wouldn't work. Maybe it changed in 11.5 or maybe this was for someone using pro.

Any help would be appreciated!

-Jeff

Jeff,

are you really talking about sources, or user profiles? - In order to delete a dictation source from a profile (which can only be done if you have more than one), go to "Profile - Open user profile - (select the user profile AND the source you want to delete the source in) -  Source - Delete". Not really intuitive indeed.

Well, it's past the point where we can make any changes in the code, but we can still make changes to the Easter Egg!

Not very intuitive is right!! Never would have thought to go to 'Open user profile' . . . I kept looking in 'Manage'

All fixed up now. Thanks again for the help.  You sure are a valuable member of this forum Rüdiger!

This was a great help becuase I couldn't find it in HELP (how unusual).

Now, I have a GN 9350 USB headset that I use alternatively for dictating and phone. I also have a Andrea PureAudio USB that I would like to use for serious dictation. It does not appear to be possible to have 2 USB sources. Any ideas?

NaturallySpeaking will not allow you to dedicate 2 USB sound sources to the same profile but you can fake it. We recommend changing the least important sound source from USB to microphone input.

Although the GN 9350e leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to noise filtering, it can be used for speech recognition in a quiet environment.
