When I state the name of a hyperlink in my browser window, or in Thunderbird, the mouse arrow key moves toward the link, but doesn't click on the link. For example, if I say "file" the cursor goes to the "file menu", but the menu does not drop down. Also, if I say the name of a hyperlink that worked in the past, it won't allow me to go there without physically using my mouse. I use Firefox as my net browser. I'm running Windows 7 with service pack one. I am using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11.5. I am also using two monitors. I have a Dell XP5 desktop with a Intel I 5 processor.

The short answer is that the developers of Firefox do not observe or care about Microsoft Active Accessibility standards. Although KnowBrainer 2011 includes full Firefox menu support (including tabs) you are not going to be able to click on hyperlinks because you don't have Active Accessibility. There is a third-party Firefox plug-in that will number everything on the page but you wind up having to use 2 commands instead of 1. Firefox is our favorite web browser but we never use it because Internet Explorer includes full NaturallySpeaking support and from speech recognition point of view, is far more efficient than Firefox.
