You'll find an abbreviated version on how to Roam your user profile when you look up “Roaming” in the NaturallySpeaking Quick Tips (at the top of this page) but as far as the purpose…
Think of running NaturallySpeaking on your desktop computer and a mobile notebook computer. Once you engage a Roaming user profile, you can open the user profiles on both computers, make changes, corrections, add new words to your vocabulary etc. and not worry about that new phrase you added to your notebook computer or the new command you wrote on your office computer.
