I have gone into vocabulary, opened the vocabulary editor, and changed it in properties to always be a.m. and p.m. after numbers, but it always goes back to 8 AM and 8 PM.
If I just say a.m. without a number in front of it, it is fine, but I need to put the number in front of it. What am I doing wrong? ------------------------- Bethy Learning how to Speak Naturally, with a little help from my friends...... |

Hi Bethy,
it says from your profile that you are using Vista so I am assuming this is your OS. In Vista, to change from PM to p.m. and AM to a.m. - Control Panel > Regional and Language Options: then, on the "Formats" tab click "Customise this format." Then, click the "Time" tab. Then, highlight the "AM" symbol and then delete it. Physically type or dictate "a.m." (without the quotation marks). Then, highlight the "PM” symbol and then delete it. Physically type or dictate "p.m." (without the quotation marks). Then, click "Apply", then "OK". Once that window disappears, this will leave the "Regional and Language Options" window showing. If the "Apply" button is active on this window, click on it and then click "OK" Once all that is done, then try it out in a Word document. This should be okay for you now and how you want it. Wow. It worked! I am thrilled as this was one of my last kinks in the system. I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to respond. Gratefully yours, Bethy ------------------------- Bethy Learning how to Speak Naturally, with a little help from my friends...... |
