Hello all, I have been having three small issues, which all seem to be related – I wonder if anybody could shed light onto what might be happening, and what I can do to fix them.– When I boot up, it does not automatically load the last user profile that I used as it usually does. Instead it says "user profile is not ready for dictation" therefore, I am required to go through the microphone setup process every time to get going. – I don't know if this is related but it seems to be. Regardless of which user profile I am using, Dragon NaturallySpeaking appears to show an extra user profile of identical name, but with the 'Mike in' input source – and it defaults to this profile, even though I ask it to open the profile which uses the external USB soundcard. Even if I reopen the correct profile, once it has rebooted, it again shows that it is using the 'Mike in' version of the profile (even though I have never created this myself) however, in reality it cannot be using the mike in input, because it is still picking up my microphone – which is connected via my external USB soundcard. – Occasionally I get the error message "the user..... Is not found" – however it continues to work. I am sure there is an easy explanation, but after all of my looking around and playing with it – I cannot figure it out :-)Thank you for your input. Silfan, it may well be that these issues are related. Try this: Go to C:\ProgramData\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking11\Users\[USERNAME] and delete or better rename the file audioin.dat.Start Dragon and do the audio wizard once again - this should have been the last time. The audioin.dat stores the information concerning your input device, sound level etc. When you create a new one, chances are that Dragon accepts it this time without complaints. Additionally, you may wish to delete the Mic-in source. In the Dragon Bar, go to Profile - Open User, select the user with Mic-In source and delete it by choosing "Source - Delete". Quote: – When I boot up, it does not automatically load the last user profile that I used as it usually does. Instead it says "user profile is not ready for dictation" This is usually caused by a bloated registry. Uninstalling/reinstalling NaturallySpeaking will usually take care of this issue but you might also consider picking up a registry editing utility. These issues are not related nor is this actually a problem. In all likelihood, when you 1st started using NaturallySpeaking you created a microphone user profile and later added a USB soundcard profile. However, because your profile was originally created with the microphone input, DNS automatically chooses it as the default setting. As long as you are aware of this and remember to switch to the USB soundcard setting, there is no problem but you can alternatively remove the microphone input via Stephan’s recommendation. Also note that if you launch NaturallySpeaking by double-clicking on your KnowBrainer icon, you should no longer receive a prompt to choose which sound source or user profile you wish to open because KnowBrainer will automatically open the last used profile. Your temporary registry issue is what's preventing KnowBrainer 2011 from currently performing this function. -------------------------
