Could someone please tell me where I can get a clear explanation of how to train commands.  Typical problems I have are:

I say "scratch that"and and Dragon writes "scratch that" or something that sounds like it, instead of doing the command. This only happens occasionally.

I say "press alt e" and Dragon writes something different every time, eg "of the" or "leaving" or something else, instead of pressing the keys alt and e and thereby getting the edit menu in Word.  I have almost never succeeded in getting the edit menu by this method.

I say "press control f" and Dragon writes something like "and/or the" instead of getting me the "find" box in Word.

 I am using DNS8 Professional.

Before starting to train commands I would suggest you look a sound input.

When you dictate text into DragonPad is it recognised accurately (say 97% +)?  If the quality of the sound coming from your microphone or soundcard/sound-chip/USB-device is poor the commands will not be recognised consistently.

First Run the Audio-Setup (Tools | Accuracy Center | Check Your Audio Settings).  In the final (Quality) Screen does the graph show a lot of yellow)? Press the Play button - is your speech clear without background noise?

When you give a command there should be a slight pause before but the whole command should be given as one utterance with no pauses.

Clear diction is important - "Scratch Tha' " often doesn't work.

When "Pressing" keys dragon can confuse some phonemes - "Press November" may be better than "Press n".
