Hello all. I am still getting my bearings on what I can and can't do with dictation. I have learned a lot the last few days digging into this forum. It's a really nice community here. For my new graduate program one of the "assignments" for all classes (it's a distance based program) is to create an outline of about a 16 hour audio lecture. So thats easily 200 hrs of audio to outline. It sounds like in theory I could take these MP3 lectures and run them through KB2008 with univoice (I'm assuming a compatible with DNS10 version will come out at some point?) and I will get a BETTER auto-transcription than if I try to do this just using DNS10 preferred? It will be much easier for me to compose my outlines from electronic transcriptions than the audio. I was planning to transcribe the lectures by re-dectating them myself. But if this would work it will save me enough hours to easily justify the software purchase in my mind. The lectures I've listened to so far don't have any background interference (they were created in an office in quiet) and are not "live" recorded lectures with classroom noise. Any thoughts on this and how soon to expect the KB2008 and univoice to be available for DNS10? UniVoice is designed to be somewhat universal but nowhere near this universal. Running digital recordings, in any form, through UniVoice probably won't quite produce the results are looking for. However, we should be able to begin testing UniVoice 10 this weekend but we can't give you a more definitive answer other than we will report back with our findings.
