My quest started on the DNS forum and I just now moved to the KnowBrainer Forum because that is where the answers were coming from. This email was sent 01-02-08 to KnowBrainer sales but has not yet been answered.

 Subject: about Univoice

Lunis Orcutt helpfully and quickly responded to my Naturally Speaking forum inquiry with a suggestion to try UniVoice 9.5 I am more than willing to try the software but I would appreciate a really dumbed down run through on how it would work. What I want to do is use sermons recorded by a man [now deceased] with an English [Liverpool] accent. I have wav and mp3 files of these sermons. Each sermon runs about 45 minutes. Can I install UniVoice 9.5, select a file and transcribe it to Word? Is it that easy? Or, what? Do not assume that I know anything. And thanks. James the Less,

Our apologies for taking so long to respond.  We just released the latest version of KnowBrainer 2007 a few days ago and we just finished uploading UniVoice 9.5 a few minutes ago.  UniVoice 9.5 is a DNS pretrained universal non-gender specific NaturallySpeaking profile that is designed to work with any age group and even includes our new medium-sized 50,000 word and small-sized 2000 word vocabularies for additional speed and accuracy BUT unfortunately we cannot recommend UniVoice in your situation because it is designed around a typical US/Canadian accent.  We haven't tested UniVoice 9.5 in the UK but in most cases UniVoice 9.0 and 9.1 performed badly and we don't expect a major change for Ver. 9.5. Sorry about that…

You purchased UniVoice 9.0 on November 3, 2006 so you are eligible for the free upgrade.  Click UniVoice 9.5 to download.  You'll be prompted for your existing serial number which we just e-mailed to you on the off chance you have lost it.
