I got rid of Flash because of the problems caused by "shockwave." Can I reinstall Flash without shockwave or are they the same thing or what?

Even though they're both Adobe Systems software, they are distinct from one another. If you're using Firefox 13, just simply disable the Adobe shockwave player plug-in. Otherwise, install Firefox 14, which seems to correct the problem by itself.

Then you look at the following Nuance technote, which has been revised and updated:

Adobe flash player update

Be sure that you read it, understand it, and then read it again. Basically the answer is yes, you can reinstall Adobe flash player 11.3.300.265, which is the latest and greatest and eliminates the problem with Adobe flash player itself.

I have Firefox 14 and the lastest Adobe Flash Player, and still Flash disables DNS.

So you can have Flash Player or DNS, but not both.

Only solution seems to be uninstall Flash, and then if you need Flash, reinstall it, watch the thing that Flash requires, and the uninstall Flash until the next time you need it.

So where do I find that Nuance technote?
