I love the Knowbrainer command, "transfer" when using it to proofread Microsoft Outlook messages before I send them. My problem is that the cursor always ends up inside of a new notepad blank document thus preventing me from giving a new Outlook command. Is there a way to use that without it opening up a new notepad document, or at least, not having the cursor inside that new document?

The Transfer command is designed to return your cursor to NotePad to complete the circle but if you no longer need NotePad, as in you are transferring your last dictation, substitute Transfer Out.

That works very well. I did not know that command existed. I noticed there is another command for transfer direction. Can you tell me what that is for? Many thanks.

Whatever possessed you to think that we actually know how these commands work?
There are 2 additional KnowBrainer transfer commands; Transfer <Direction> (Left, Right, Up, Down, Previous or Next) and Transfer <Direction> <1-20>. Transfer <Direction> which allows you to change directions. When you say Transfer, KnowBrainer cuts all of your dictation from NotePad to the clipboard, closes NotePad, pastes the text into the previous application (such as your EHR), tabs to the next field and re-opens NotePad. Transfer <Direction> allows you to change the default behavior which is to press the {Tab} Key. If you say Transfer Left, the command will work the same way as Transfer but substitute {Shift Tab} instead of {Tab}. Transfer Down will substitute pressing {Down}. The Transfer <Direction> <1-20> kicks it up a notch by giving you the option to move from 1-20 fields in any direction. -------------------------

I am not sure if I understand your last posting and what that command actually does. For example, I am dictating this note in Notepad. I gave the command, "transferred down" the note looks like this which is exactly the same as saying, "transfer".

Sorry, the command I gave was,"transfer" not transferred.

Transfer Down does the following:
1. Cuts all of the text to the clipboard in NotePad and closes NotePad 2. Pastes the contents of the clipboard into the previous program where your cursor is located 3. Presses {Down} to move down to the next field (assuming your application supports this) 4. Reopens NotePad and turns the microphone back on (in case NaturallySpeaking turned it off) If your application does not support pressing {Down} then the command will likely behave exactly the same as the Transfer command. -------------------------
