Hello. Is anyone using DNS with EndNote or other bibliographic software that allows for citing as you write? I'm seriously thinking about buying DNS 9, but if I still have to put in all the citations by hand, that could get ugly. Any advice on this?

I've been using reference manager 11 with DNS 9.0 (and recently 9.1) without any problem. I've written macros so that I can say "add reference," which starts the cite while you write reference selection menu. I've also automated the transfer of references downloaded from the Internet into my database with another macro that lets me say "add to refman" and all of the selected references are copied to my main database automatically... all those mouse clicks are no longer needed. There are a few issues that you need to deal with, namely preventing reference manager from automatically formatting references inside Microsoft Word (you need to disable instant formatting). But as long as that option is off, then the two programs work perfectly well together with Microsoft Word for writing referenced documents. PS. I also tried using endnote, and it seems even better than reference manager, and it also worked with DNS 9.

Surprisingly, DNS 9.1 works rather better with EndNote (v7.0.0) than with some other software. Limited testing shows that Select and Say is enabled (i.e. correction by voice within fields of a reference.) DNS commands are also accepted by EndNote. I have used EndNote for >10 years and have stuck with v7, as I dislike the later versions' uncontrolled spawning of subfolders that contain the data for each library and I don't need the newer functions.
