The penalty for having once given my business telephone number to Nuance is that Nuance has called me probably 500 times seeking to telemarket software.  Today, they have already called me exactly 10 times.

I, of course, do not take the calls, and use blocking software to disconnect after 1 ring, and give a message that telemarketing calls are not accepted, but it is still quite an annoyance, and the harassment continues.

How can I stop the telephone stalking?

I would advise never to give Nuance your correct telephone number, the penalty for doing so is too steep.

G.J.,

Do what I did. Simply call them up (customer service) and ask them nicely once not to call you. I did that, didn't get nasty with them, and they have not called me since. Don't be nasty the first time that you call them because they may just continue calling you for spite. Legally, if you asked them not to call you, they have to honor that request. Just tell them that you are recording this call so that you have a record of it. After that, if they don't stop "harassing" you, then you can put pressure on them.
