I am unable to paste into Insert a Quote as nothing happens when i press the right mouse button to paste into the window.

pasting however works in this text body.

Is this peculiar to me as I have had no problems until recently?

John,

It's unclear from your explanation as to what you're trying to do with regard to pasting a quote. I can copy any text and paste it into the KnowBrainer message text window using the mouse. So I don't understand exactly what you are trying to get at.

Regardless, I use the VoicePower copy and paste commands to do it entirely by voice anyway. I find it much easier to add quotations using the "select texttocopy", "copy selection here", "copy pages here" or "pay selection here" commands in VoicePower.

A little more step-by-step detail would be helpful in trying to figure out exactly what you're trying to do and why it doesn't work.

If you are simply inserting a link to another posting or any other website, the simplest option is to paste it into the Message Text field, place the cursor to the immediate right of the link and hit {Spacebar} 1 time to activate the link. Note that this procedure only works in Internet Explorer.

I have narrowed the problem down to my 64 bit computer and is probably something to do with Internet explorer9 and Windows. I will have play around further to try and fix it.

This posting is on my 32bit laptop and is working fine.

Chuck

I have had a little more time today to look into this problem.

I am using WIN7 pro 64bit and IE9 64bit.

When I use the 'Insert a quote' button on the post menu bar it brings up the insert a quote window as posted previously but when I try to paste whatever I have copied from one of the posts, nothing happens.

I tried today using Google Chrome and everything worked perfectly and I was able to insert a quote.

The problem seems to be with IE9 as far as I can see. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE9 but without any effect.

I can of course paste into the message body but not the Insert a quote window.

Any suggestions?

Chuck

As you can see I have solved my problem or at least I think so.

I did a reinstall and then found that I have two versions of IE9 on my computer in different locations.

I will disable the one that seems to be causing the problem
