I can't seem to get voice-recognition to input text into the search box above.  It always wants to do some crazy command.

We believe that the Search function on this forum is Java-based and thus incompatible with DNS. If you were using KnowBrainer 2010 you could dictate into Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, NotePad etc. and initiate a search, without even highlighting the text by saying Search KnowBrainer Forum. You could optionally select a word or phrase and say Search KnowBrainer Forum. However, a significantly lower cost alternative would be to add the following direct link http://www.knowbrainer.com/PubForum/index.cfm?page=forumQuickSearch which is Select-&-Say enabled.
