I am working with a person who is now a quadriplegic and has a Mac Book Pro. He would like to be able to create custom commands, but it seems that there is not a version with scripting for Mac. I chatted with Nuance and the person thinks it does not exist including in Dragon Medical. I already know that the PC version of Dragon Medical can create custom commands and scripting, so does anyone know whether any of the versions of Dragon Dictate for Mac has custom command creation?

Mimi,

Yes, to a certain extent.

Tag a look at the following Nuance technote:

Welcome to the World’s Most Popular Speech Recognition Forum

We can certainly appreciate the lure of a Mac and it pains us to say this but anyone who is profoundly physically disabled shouldn't go near a Mac unless they're running Windows in Boot Camp or Parallels/VMware which essentially means using NaturallySpeaking in a Windows environment because DragonDictate doesn't remotely have the capability of the combination of NaturallySpeaking Premium 11.5 and KnowBrainer 2011 which is free to the physically disabled.

You can create Apple Script commands for Dragon Dictate. It is not as powerful as Advanced Scripting, but it sure helps get a few things done faster and without hands.
