I'm curious to know, either with KB or DNS Legal, is it possible to setup auto formatting rules?  e.g. I would like to set it up so that any time a sentence begins with "See" the word "See" appears in italics.  Similarly "See e.g.".  I'd also like to be able to set it up so that any Latin word is automatically italicized.  Also so that anytime a word contains an apostrophe, (e.g. I'd, Jim's, examiner's etc.) smart quotes are used automatically.  I already have left and right quotes, and left single and right single quote, but words that contain an apostrophe are bound mess me up.

 Thanks in advance,

Rob

Rob,

I can see you point, and this has been brought up here on numerous occasions, but unfortunately, it is not possible. In a nutshell, identification (recognition) of words is something that's taking place in the vocabulary, which is where all the words that can be recognized by the software are listed. In the vocabulary, however, you won't find anything to assign formatting options of the kind you are mentioning to the given words. If you could, you might search for Latin words, and make them to come out italicized by default, for instance, but in doing this ony by one for each, because on the other hand, being a "Latin word" isn't a property in itself that you could address programmatically, so this would have to be done manually, if it could be done at all.

In short, what you have in mind isn't possible doing programmatically, short of setting up search & replace macros in Word, e.g., for post-editing and scanning the document for a specified list of words, and reformatting them, if that is worth the work being involved.

Well, it's past the point where we can make any changes in the code, but we can still make changes to the Easter Egg!
