I use this to name files so that they will sort alphabetically by date. I call the command "Enter Sortable Date"; here's the code:

Sub Main
   SendKeys Format(Now, "yyyy mm dd" ), 1
   SendKeys "{Space}{(}", 1
   SendKeys Format(Now, "d MMMM yyyy" ), 1
   SendKeys "{)}", 1
   SendKeys "+^{Left 3}", 1
   SendKeys "{Left}", 1
   SendKeys "+{End}", 1
End Sub

the result looks something like:

2020 01 08 (8 January 2020)

with the parenthetical hint selected so you can just say "press delete" if you don't want the more easily read extra.
