I apologize for not having the time at present to dedicate to properly learning KB commands. If someone could help kick start me in the right direction I would be greatful. This is what I am trying to do:
I have looked over the KB commands and tried to replicate some of the actions but to no avail. When I use this: HeardWord "select","that" I get this: {Ctrl+Shift+Right+Del}The consumer I have some experience with commands and text expanding software, but I am trying to replace some of my text expander software keystroke commands with voice commands. Thanking you in advance for your help. Edited to add: I am an editor and work with existing text.

It seems to me that your second line is too crowded. That is, you want "Control + Shift + Right" to be one action (the keystrokes that select one word to the right), and you want "delete" to be a second action. Try SendSystemKeys "{Ctrl+Shift+Right},1" SendSystemKeys "{Del}" The ",1" is a "true" statement. That is, when you're doing two or more consecutive SendKeys (or SendSystemKeys) actions, adding "true" will make it so the second line of keys isn't sent until the first one is complete. Is it necessary? Not always. Is it helpful? More often than not. Edited to add: since you're working with existing text, maybe a simpler approach would be to work with "find and replace." Depending on your text editor, there are keystrokes to bring up that function. In Microsoft Word 2003 and 2007, it's "Control + H" ------------------------- Eric Wright At work: DNS 12 Pro. Thank you kindly for your reply and suggestions. I will try your example and see what results in a bit. Unfortunately, due to recent physical disabilities, I am having to convert my prior keyboard shortcuts and text expander commands to voice commands to aid in my continued ability to work. This work is production-based pay and I am looking for the fastest way to edit existing text via voice commands. I have found DNS and KnowBrainer to be very helpful. I'm sure there is much I have not explored yet in the these softwares and hope to learn a great deal in the near future. Again, thank you.

You might also try:
HeardWord "delete","next","word" Wait 500 SendKeys "The consumer" When possible, we try to avoid using SendSystemKeys for typing text because it types each letter one at a time. -------------------------

Thank you! I noticed that it typed each letter one at a time, but I was thrilled that I had at least gotten it to produce that much! Enjoy your day.

HeardWord "delete","next","word" This works great and thanks again. It was a big help. One more thing and it would be perfected. What can I add to the end of the last line to make it add a space between 2 words (consumer ___ next word), as when I use this it results in: The consumernext word. ??? - SendKeys "The consumer", "spacebar" You guys are great. Thanks for making life easier. ------------------------- Love my Knowbrainer 2011 Rev E - DNS Premium 11.5- Windows 7 Professional 64-bit - RAM - 6.00 GB - Processor - Intel Core i5 CPU 650@3.20 GHz - Headset - Spectra USB Transcription - Microphone - USB 6-in-1 TableMike - MS Office 2007 |

We typically overdo the wait times a bit when contributing commands so that we can be reasonably certain that they will deploy correctly but as far as adding an extra space is concerned, another option would be to simply insert an extra space between the word consumer and the last quote as follows:
HeardWord "delete","next","word" Wait 200 SendKeys "The consumer " -------------------------

This command works like a charm. I used it about 200 times today, and I grinned every time I used it. Thanks for your help.
