Lunis, Thank you for the delivery last week.  Loaded yester eve, late.

 Works well, but as you say lethargic about starting the transcription, but then at times 10 used to take about 20 seconds to transcribe, but once started, got the idea, until there was another pause.

Trying to set up new user

Tried to find MyCmds.dat file following the path and it isn't there, I have it in the Dragon side bar, my macros.

I have general, generalcontainer, ta, td, tt, ttag,voice

 

I am using Windows XP.

 

I have checked the Hidden files and folders (nothing about drives)

 

Seem to think we have been down this road before, which usually meant about 4-6 hours to re-enter all my personal macros, over 150 macros.

The 1st thing you have to do is change your Windows Explorer folder options to display hidden files and folders. Assuming you can view hidden files and folders, the default location for your MyCmds.dat file is ~ C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking10\Users\snoekie\current\MyCmds.dat in Windows XP.

Thanks Lunis, but it ain't there and I have ticked the show hidden files.

 

I have looked for it for almost an hour, trying various ways, but can find nary a trace of the file.

We were a little off on our previous address which was for Ver. 10 rather than Ver. 11. Try ~ C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking11\Users\(your username)\MyCmds.dat . Assuming you're using Windows XP and you haven't moved your user profile, this is the default address for your MyCmds.dat file.

I did some more ferreting and came accross in program files/nuance mycmdsxl2dat.exe and mycmdsxldatandthen explored further via the seach feature against my name and got 3 hits.9, 10 and 11.  Mycmds.dat now on the desktop.

 

So I went back and set up the new user, trained and am trying to move on beyond the analysis of the dictation, a long one.  10 minutes to go and then the vocab.

 

Had a slight problem with the mike, but now resolved, and so we move on.  Will report back, thanks.

I did not manage to transfer my MyCds file so I have done it all over again.

 

However I have come up against another problem. I can open up a document quite successfully but I am not able to dictate into it because it keeps giving me the message "please say that again".

 

I have a Phillips microphone usb, supplied by you, and I select the audio control microphone from the list that I'm given, and I get a pass result every time, but as soon as I try and dictate into WordPerfect, it keeps telling me to say that again. The other options are sound Max HD and USB audio device. when I check the control, audio and microphone check, it is as put me back to USB audio device, where I consistently get a fail.

 

When I set it up in the audio control microphone, I pass every time. The curious thing is that when it first Naturally speaking and it took my old profile the accuracy was excellent and there was no problem with the microphone.

 

Even more curious, it recognises this dictation, but in WordPerfect apart from recognising the commands, and I have trained it, it keeps telling me to repeat what I have said 'please say that again".

 

What it does consistently, when I say "attending [a name -Monty and a surname] it calls up an e-mail, new message. If I try a different version of words, it merely tells me to repeat what I've said.

 

The only error in this dictation was trying to get it to recognise and name, what I dictated was literally the words 'a name' (I got 'and name'-not for the first time) and it pig headedly will not type that, the last dozen words were typed physically.

 

I have just been down to WordPerfect and dictated "why are you being so pigheaded about what I want you to do" and what I have got is the Dragon keyword edit with "I want you to do" to be searched against, yet it will dictate into this window perfectly well.

 

Please help.

 

PS, by edit, I am now on the original version as loaded.

 

I found a plethora of user profiles which I have deleted, via Windows Explorer (and it appears to be drugged up to the eyeballs it is so lethargic).

 

In WordPerfect it keeps inviting me to "Please say that again".the accuracy in this window sucks. On correction, the volume of the playback is clear and distinct.

 

The numerous profiles after the original load where I had 1 as an addition for the original profile which naturally speaking added (V11).  Added to that I added another 1.

 

In this window it is lethargic, in WordPerfect executing a macro it is lightning fast. Trying to dictate I get the response, eventually, "please say that again"  In the user profiles it is all mic in. Is this a Remove  and reload?

 

Incidentally for your prog I have had a couple of times KB2010 Runtime error'-214 721/9930 (8004676) COM returned an unexpected error code: Details are VCMDERR_MENUEXIST'

 My Macros so tediously loaded all gone.

The VCMDERR_MENUEXIST question has already been answered several times and a simple search of this forum will answer that question.

We are not certain but we believe the most likely reason why you are having difficulties dictating into WordPerfect is because WordPerfect has ejected NaturallySpeaking add-in so DNS is attempting to convert your dictation into commands. You'll find a step-by-step on re-enabling the add-in when you look up “What to Do When You Lose Select-&-Say and WordPerfect” in the NaturallySpeaking Quick Tips (at the top of this page). However, if you need to test this theory in advance, try dictating into DragonPad. If you don't have a problem dictating into DragonPad, WordPad or NotePad, it's almost assuredly the WordPerfect NaturallySpeaking add-in.

After starting this Afternoon, dictation was available in WordPerfect, with the Please say that again message coming up, now it isn't.

 

Having moved my commands from where it was into the current folder, the macros are now available.

 

Dictation into this window is available, but the other message keeps coming up in WordPerfect and the quick tips comes up as a blank page.

 

It can hear the macro commands, but not the dictation and to quote a character in the film "the outlaw Josey Wales" responses are somewhat like "molasses in winter".

The dictation in WordPad is excellent so clearly there is an add-on problem with WordPerfect, and my macros are now working in the profile set up yesterday.

The macros were not working when I transferred them into my username, but when that was, my commands, moved into the "current" file everything appeared to be in order.

In WordPad 11 is fast. I will keep an eye on the quick tips to deal with the add-on problem you mention.

Can you copy and paste it into a response rather than waiting for the web page to come available?

Re the error message, and I had noticed this before, but just twigged, with the loading of DNS I do this by loading KB, but what I get is 2 icons of KB.2008, now removed.

 I had deleted the 2008 icon.

 However I am still getting 2 KB icons in the tray, only one normally visible, until I enlarge the tray, when they straddle the DNS icon.
