We will be switching to Epic in the next 6-12 months for 1200 + integrated care netowrk providers.    How has it worked?  What pitfalls have you run into?  Any trouble using it remotely via citrix?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike.  We started implementing Dragon Medical 10.1 Network Edition about a year ago at our large multispecialty clinic and have been using Epic EHR for over 12 years via Citrix.  The implementation has gone well and we have over 400 physicians on board now.  The vast majority of our physicians have found Dragon to be a valuable tool for documentation in Epic.

As far as challenges:

-Can't comment on vSync which is supposed to correct the Citrix issues with voice editing since we have not installed it yet

-Without vSync there are some formatting issues that can frustrate some users

-Voice commands generally work well by using keyboard shortcuts and right click menu items when keyboard shortcuts are not available.  Commands need to be modified with each Epic upgrade.

Hope this helps.

Ali,

Thanks for the feedback and using DM in Epic.  It is concerning that commands need to be modified with each upgrade of Epic.
