I have the left custom button set to 'Previous field' and the right button to 'Next field'. For no apparent reason these buttons no longer work. I have 3 PowerMics so I tried another one but still no joy. It may not have any bearing on this issue but I searched all commands and cannot find the Previous field or Next field commands in KB or DNS. I have all of the other buttons set to different commands and they all work as usual. I tried to switch the Previous/Next field commands to a different button but they still did not work. I am using the same forms with the same format for fields (bracketed numbers) and this has worked for years. Solution? EDIT TO ADD: I am using DNS Medical 10.1/KB 2008 ------------------------- DNS 10.1 Medical, KB2008F, XP2 Pro, 4G RAM, Dictaphone PowerMic II microphone, Eclipse EHR |

The problem is not likely your microphone or NaturallySpeaking.
Are you dictating into a Select-&-Say application or did you recently lose your Select-&-Say capability? You can test this theory by verbally attempting to select any word or phrase. The reason why we are asking this question is because the previous field and next field commands search for the next or previous pair of [ ] (brackets) and any text contained within those brackets. Note that this feature is also included in the KnowBrainer 2011 Upgrade. Both of these commands require Select-&-Say; otherwise they would have to perform a clunky {Ctrl+f} function. This would also explain why your other commands are still working. -------------------------

I'm dictating into a SOAP note macro in Word. I'll test it today to see if S&S functionality is goobered up.
EDIT TO ADD: Just got to work and tested your solution (I'd forgotten about S&S; it's been so long since I had a problem with it). Lunis, as usual, you ROCK. Problem solved. Many thanks. Now I get to spend all of my waking hours dictating SOAP notes again. ------------------------- DNS 10.1 Medical, KB2008F, XP2 Pro, 4G RAM, Dictaphone PowerMic II microphone, Eclipse EHR |
