1. I've been debating on trying DNS Medical 10.1 vs Pro 11 because of the templates with voice fields function. Is this also in Pro 11 or just Medical? 2. Also, does Medical control buttons, functions or auto-fill in any EMR system or just a select few? Thank you. |

Dragon Medical 10.1 includes what we believe to be a slightly better organized Command Browser and an option to make the Dictation Box invisible which can come in handy when you need to capture your dictation while something else is in front of the monitor; like an x-ray. However, don't fall for the hype about the templates because the only templates that are included in Medical are a handful boilerplate text commands that include fields and when we say fields we simply mean text that is surrounded by left and right brackets like this: [Patient Name]. You could easily re-create these templates in DNS Premium but DNS Premium doesn't include the built-in commands that will allow you to jump from field to field. However, don't let that stop you because those commands are included in KnowBrainer 2011 and NaturallySpeaking Professional.
If you don't have a need, in the foreseeable future, to dictate directly into an EMR application, it would not only be significantly less expensive to purchase the combination of NaturallySpeaking Pro 11 and KnowBrainer Medical but would additionally be notably more accurate. In our opinion, Nuance really dropped the ball by not releasing Medical 11 last year. They are attempting to implement more features to justify the eventual $2200 SRP price but it looks like they bit off a little more than they could chew and they probably should've held back on the new features until Ver. 12 but that's just our opinion. Neither Medical or Professional include native auto fill commands but both applications include this capability which will work in any EMR. Also note that we will be releasing a 2nd generation of KnowBrainer Medical, hopefully within a few days that will make it possible to dictate into any Nuance blacklisted EMR. -------------------------
