Hi

Does anyone have any ideas for working with a Sennheiser BW900, specifically with the issue of it transcribing my breathing as words? The alternative seems to be switching it on and off for the nanoseconds' thinking time sometimes required when dictating, which is a drag, but otherwise I am every other minute second having to command it to 'undo that' or 'delete that'.

BTW, there are - oh, just like that - 'there are' has just popped up by way of demonstration. I didn't say it!

I was going to say, BTW , what is this application that I am dictating to on this site? It's pretty accurate at transcribing my dictation, and when I need to correct it, actually follows my corrections! Wish I could get this kind of performance out of any other application, and I include dragon pad in that....

Our 1st recommendation would be to move the microphone element a little further away (up to 2 inches) but we also suspect that you may be a victim of running the Audio Setup Wizard at too low a volume level. It's important to remember that when you're reading the Audio Setup Wizard text (which you have probably memorized by now), that you should read the words exactly the way you dictate. People frequently read the words quickly and speak at a lower volume level or simply speak at a higher volume level when they are free-form dictating. If you're not certain, you can always speak at a higher volume level when you run the Audio Setup Wizard. Hopefully, a combination of moving the microphone a little further away and speaking at a higher volume level, when running the Audio Setup Wizard, will take care of the problem. If not, you're microphone may simply be defective.
