The Samson Q7 ($99 SRP) came very close to equaling the Sennheiser MD431II ($500 SRP) in overall accuracy. However, our favorite Q7 feature is the fact you can back off several inches from the microphone and still maintain a high level of speech recognition accuracy. Considering that the price is 1/5 of the Sennheiser MD431II, this is an inexpensive alternative. Another alternative is the new Olympus ME 31 gun microphone which works great from up to 4 feet away. Helpful Links Note: The Q7 microphone may not work with the VXI full-duplex pod (USB soundcard) but works great with the Andrea Electronics 1\2 duplex USB Pod.
